David Barsamian – Author and public speaker, David Barsamian speaks at over forty universities, conferences, peace groups, bookstores, and benefit gatherings each year. His 40-year career in radio and print journalism has broadened the minds of millions of people, nationally and internationally. He has won the Media Education Award, the ACLU’s Upton Sinclair Award for independent journalism, the Cultural Freedom Fellowship from the Lannan Foundation, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rocky Mountain Peace & Justice Center. The Institute for Alternative Journalism named him one of its Top Ten Media Heroes. A longtime public radio advocate, David is the founding director of Alternative Radio and RISE UP.
